7th - 8th grade
Freedom Fellows join us as full-time Fellows during their 7th grade year. During this time, Fellows begin to participate in school-year arts workshops, study sessions, and trips.
9th - 12th grade
In high school, Fellows have the opportunity to continue their growth and study through our school-year workshops, and begin to think about what they're interested in after graduation. We also offer some high school Fellows opportunities to be compensated to work with the SCFP. In the past, we've resourced fellows to work as peer restorative justice practitioners, as well as hired fellows to work as tutors with our Little Freedom School fellows.
Additionally, high school fellows participate in our Freedom Summer Collegiate Program, where they take college-level courses with PhD candidates. In these courses, Fellows build relationships with professors, experience a college classroom, and have the opportunity to receive college credit for their classwork.
College
After high school graduation, fellows have the opportunity to join our Alumni College Success Program (ACSP). Here, fellows receive support through weekly check-in calls with peers and mentors, support in their academic work, access mental health resources, and benefit from a monthly stipend. The SCFP is committed to supporting fellows in their academic pursuits after college -- whether it be at a four-year university, community college, or licensure program.
